Moving to Savage
The town of Savage, MN welcomes you to our town of about 28,000 residents in the eastern part of the state. Our community has a rich history dating all the way back to the fur trading in the 1600s. Getting around the town of Savage is easy to do with our public transportation system. The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority provides bus services to Savage and the surrounding communities including the Twin Cities. The MTVA also offers vanpools, carpool matching services, biking information and much more to help you get to work or anywhere else you need to get throughout the day. Savage has several parks scattered throughout the community so you can go enjoy the serenity of the Minnesota nature or take the kids to play on the equipment. There are more than 300 acres of park lands that are maintained by the city, including Canterbury Park, Eagle Creek Park, Heatherton Ridge Park and others. One unique park - Cates Lake Tot Lot - is one acre of land which includes play equipment, a half basketball court and a shelter. Moms can bring their kids here to play with other kids in a safe environment. Savage encourages its residents to participate in the community's Neighborhood Watch Program to help reduce crime throughout the city. With citizen involvement, the police are able to do their job more efficiently. The program also helps build relationships between the community and the police department. There are several goals of the Savage Neighborhood Watch program and they include an increase in community awareness, training citizens in various security strategies and much more. One of the more unique features about Savage is that there is an outdoor pool that the entire community can enjoy. Located at Life Time Fitness at 6554 Loftus Lane West, this outdoor poor has many features for all ages, including a Lazy River, waterslides, a sun deck and zero-depth entry pool. Season passes for an individual are $150 and only $250 for a whole family which gives you access to the entire fitness facility which also includes sport courts, personal trainers, wellness programs and so much more.
